Highlights from the 2019–20 ACPC Annual Report

This video provides a summary of the key trends in the 2019–20 Aged Care Pricing Commissioner (ACPC) Annual Report.

We have made some big changes this year! We have a new, easy to use website and a revised RAD application form. Submitting a new application soon? You must use the new form from 1 Jan 2021.

Highlights from the 2019 - 2020 annual report. 308 RAD applications approved in the last financial year.

77% of RADs approved in the last financial year were between $550,001 and $850,000.

78% of all rooms approved last financial year were in NSW and Victoria.

86% of all rooms approved in the last financial year are within 40km of the capital city CBD.

7 out of 10 rooms approved in the last financial year were in existing residential aged care homes, the remainder in new homes.

Other updates from this year include - (1) Development of Team values and Strategic Objectives, (2) Business process improvement review.

We recognise that the aged care sector has been severely impacted by COVID-19. Ongoing impacts include - (1) Future design of aged care homes, (2) Difficult economic conditions, (3) Staffing issues.

Over the course of 2020/21, other areas of focus for the ACPC include - (1) Review of our current templates and supporting documents, (2) Further development of our data analysis tools and metrics, (3) Analysing the findings of the Royal Commission.
