The functions of the Aged Care Pricing Commissioner include:

• the approval of extra service fees;
• the approval of proposed accommodation payments that are higher than the maximum amount determined by the Minister;
• any other functions conferred on the Aged Care Pricing Commissioner by the Minister or under Commonwealth law.

John Dicer commenced as the Aged Care Pricing Commissioner on 21 May 2018.

John has extensive experience in law specialising in major infrastructure projects; construction; transport (aviation & rail); environmental law; property; and risk, governance and compliance. John has been working for over 25 years’ within the corporate-government sector as a General Counsel or equivalent and held senior executive roles with Airservices Australia, Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, RailCorp and the Olympic Co-ordination Authority.
