The Aged Care Pricing Commissioner
The Aged Care Pricing Commissioner is an independent, statutory office holder appointed under the Aged Care Act 1997 and reports to the Assistant Minister for Social Services.
Approval of Extra Service fees
New arrangements for the approval of Extra Service fees commence from 1 July 2014. Under these arrangements, aged care providers must apply to the Aged Care Pricing Commissioner for approval of proposed Extra Service fees.
The Minister has made the Extra Service Principles 2014 which provide the regulatory basis for the approval of Extra Service fees, and an application form for providers to apply to the Aged Care Pricing Commissioner for approval of proposed increases or decreases to Extra Service fees is now available.
